Our School, Our Playground

Last Tuesday on November 28th, we organized a skype session with our partner school in Cyprus. 13 students of the 5th and 6th grade from the Primary School  of Apesia and 15 students from the primary school of Chalandri, joined together via Skype, introduced to each other, discusssed and sang Xmas xarolls and traditioanl songs. They also had the chance to talk about their favourite computer games and exchanged the nichnames that they usually use. It was a very nice experience that we are looking forward to repeating. Maria

St udents played educational games on 12th Oct  to celebrate Erasmus+ Days at school

After returning from the second mobility from Kubrat in April, Polish teachers team  developed games presented in Kubrat. Some of them were translated into Polish. However, the most popular activities among students  were in recent months the outdoors games. After the winter months in which board games had their spotlight, students in Poland moved with great joy to the school playground in May. The culmination of our project activities was organizing of The second Games Day on 01.06.2018. On this day our school  became the playground in a real way.   https://youtu.be/492_NrrSR9Q

This game is applicable in the classroom to memorise or to assess the new content in the learning process. Game Rules Memory with Musical Instruments          The game Memory /Match up, Pexeso/ is a game with pairs of cards. In turn, each player chooses two cards and turns them face up. If they have the same picture, then that player wins the pair and plays again. Students from Kubrat played different games during the Hour of the Games organised on 1 June. Fifth and sixth graders participated in the game We Know, We Can and they showed excellent team work skills and competences in Science. The first stage of the game was Scavenger Hunt. Scavenger Hunt_the Red Team Scavenger Hunt_the Blue Team The second stage was a quiz and they had to answer questions taken from the students’ textbooks. During the “Hour of the Games” students solved Math problems through memory cards and their knowledge and teamwork skills were tested during the game Fast Mail . Pupils trained their visual memory with the game Memory Drawing . Participants enjoyed Jumping Sacks and Dance Guide and took a funny Geography test by Twister . The script of the event will be shared on the school website.

We can share images and photos about outdoor games. Mr Montagna, P.E. teacher, and Mr De Seneen, Grandfather, have organized activities about old outdoor games in the school playground and our pupils have had an enjoyable experience.

The Italian students are playing outdoor games following the suggestions provided by the Spanish teachers and children. In particular they are playing outdoor traditional games. Grandparents are very helpful and participate in the project since they bring and show how to play with old toys.

In the ERASMUS + educational program we learned to interact with people from other countries and to play games in classroom.  It was a nice experience. Angelos Maltzaris and Kostas Arapis

"ERASMUS +" was a very nice and joyful program. Through this we had the opportunity to meet teachers from other European countries. In the computer lab we made a quiz about European history. We also prepared a dance that we presented to the teachers of ERASMUS + that visited our school in November. All these memories have been wonderful and will remain unforgettable to us...   MY EXPERIENCE WITH ERASMUS            My most memorable experience with Erasmus was when we, the students of sixth grade, created our own mini quiz on Kahoot! Our 2nd transnational project meeting in Bulgaria (Kubrat) has ended. We had a wonderful time, talking about many issues of our projects, sharing many new ideas of our teachers and playing games with the bulgarian students. Do you like Domino? Check out our new version of the Domino game modified to support  a grammar section subject of the language called "Parts of speech", a rather tedious subject for the kids to learn and for the teachers to teach.  Many additional ideas came out of our teachers' mind on how  the Domino game can support other educational subjects, as well, while playing the game with their students. Our children are learning how to play "GOGOALS"  boardgame, which is concerned with the 17 goals established by the ONU and UNESCO Agenda 2030, regarding the 17 goals about sustainable development to be achieved by 2030. Gino and Aida.

The BINGO (or TOMBOLA) game Bingo is a very well known game that is very popular all over the world. BINGO is played in many variations and flavours and is also widely used in educational settings. I created a math version of the game that helps children to practice treir skills in arithmetic calculations. You can create your own cards with different calculations for a different age group, or you can make a cmpletely different version of the game that supports language (definitions), foreign lanuages or any other school subject.  The possibilites are endless! "Guess the Instrument" - Game in the Music class at Hristo Botev School in Kubrat, Bulgaria The Game Rules A student got a label with  the name or an image of a musical insturment on his back.  This student have to guess the name of the instrument by asking questions. He is given answers "Yes" or "No" from his classmates.  There is a judge who counts the questions.  The winner is whoever guesses what his label says in the least number of questions.

Our Italian students are very motivated and happy to participate in our Erasmus+ project. They like reviewing contents and skills through different games;  LearningApps is their favourite app to refresh or memorize lexis and structures in English.
